I finished off last week’s flash piece earlier in the week. I’ve begun this week’s, but not yet finished it, in part because I’ve been out most of the weekend — not the best of reasons.
The story I posted this week is called Memories. It’s about the pain that our family gives us which, while we can lesson it and learn to live with it, never completely leaves us.
I’ve begun listening to the audio book of the Drowning Girl, by Caitlín R. Kiernan. That’s been interesting so far. It has a trans character in it, which was unexpected, and I’m interested to see how her story progresses.
I also finished reading the first volume of Battle Angel Alita. Even though it felt like the first half was an extended fight scene, I’ve enjoyed the story telling (cyborgs and body part stealing and trying to figure out what being in love means), and I’m looking forward to reading more.
