Weeknotes 25 November

This last week I’ve managed to write a bit of a record 2400 words, my best week since starting these notes, along with various bits of editing. Most of this is for the Rosalind’s Siblings submission, whose deadline is December 1st (this coming Saturday). I’m not sure that I’ll make the deadline, but if not, it’s a genre piece and I’ll see if anyone else is interested in it.

I have my weekly flash fiction up, but I’ve been struggling this evening to plot out my next story, which I was hoping to write around books. May need to move on to another theme.

I finished off the Drowning Girl, by Caitlín R. Kiernan. I listened to it as an audio book and was left with a need to get a text copy and to read it slowly. I’ve started on the audio book of Perdido Street Station, by China Miéville. This is a reread for me. I’m not a super fan of the narrator, but I’m I’m still enjoying revisiting New Crobuzon.

I’m enjoy Veniss Underground a great deal. The mood of the first third of the book seems to have permeated my Sunday evening, which is a bit surreal.
